Perry Hall’s best-known attraction is Gunpowder Falls State Park, 18,000 acres of undeveloped land at the north end of the community. The park was established to protect the stream valleys running through the region and is known for its diverse landscape. Explorers who make use of Gunpowder’s 100 miles of hiking and walking trails can find both steep slopes and soggy marshes.
The Honeygo Run Regional Park is a more conventional facility, with a range of recreational facilities available. Lighted courts and athletic fields, a recreation center and a roller hockey court are just some of the options available. Walkers and outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the nature trails running through the nearby wooded areas.
Perry Hall High School also manages award-winning sports and band programs in addition to its strong academic curricula. With 1,900 enrolled students, Perry Hall High School is the largest school in the county system.
Residents also enjoy their proximity to the thriving arts community in nearby Baltimore. Baltimore is home to many museums, presenting many different types of arts and history. Examples include the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Walters Art Gallery and the Baltimore Lyric Opera House. Many organizations also actively organize and present shows, events and programs, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
